Our Team

Our project is made possible through the generosity of family, friends and Snailers.

Our Mission

Genuine human connection through handwritten communication.

How did you feel the last time you got a letter from a friend? Surprised? Excited? Loved?

In our fast-paced world, the act of sitting down with intention and writing a personalized note shows an old-fashioned kind of care. Whether written to a stranger or to a dear friend, a letter can bridge the gap between two souls and create a genuine human connection.

Snailed with Love is a community project that reconnects people through the art of physically mailed letters, notes and cards.

The idea for Snailed with Love originated when our founder, Brandee Lake, started sending postcards from her travels to her great grandmother. Snailed With Love creates opportunities for 1-on-1 connections across physical distances. We help eliminate the artificial social boundaries that keep us apart by using ‘snail mail’ to create a moment of joy for both the sender and the recipient.

Each of our letter-writing campaigns is called a Snailing. Snailings are designed to create meaningful connections. We post multiple Snailings throughout the year and invite adults and kids to become Snailers.

Our Snailers are the most critical component of every Snailing – they bring our mission to life one handwritten letter at a time. What starts out with just one letter, one envelope, and one stamp can become a moment that means the world to someone.

Support our mission by becoming a Snailer. Sign up to participate in one of our Snailings today!

TESTIMONIALS

WHAT SNAILERS ARE SAYING

Writing a handwritten letter is a lost art. I still treasure the many letters received over the years from my parents, grandparents, and friends. These are lasting memories that bring joy, happiness, excitement, and a smile to someone. Thank you, Brandee Lake, for connecting your generation to other generations through letter writing.

As a young men’s mentoring group we are always looking for great community service projects. When we heard about Snailed With Love we thought it was a great opportunity to give back during COVID-19 and teach our young men a valuable life lesson. We can’t wait to start writing!

Now Snailing

Inspired by our founder’s story, Snailed With Love’s inaugural Snailing will collect handwritten letters, notes, and cards to deliver to senior residents at an assisted living community or nursing home.

Due to COVID-19, nursing homes and hospitals across the country have gone on lockdown for the safety of their residents and staff. This has left many nursing home residents feeling isolated and alone during an uncertain time. Staff members have also been affected – serving tirelessly as front-line workers who care for the most vulnerable members of our community.

For this Snailing, we partnered with nursing homes in Michigan and Arkansas to bring a little joy to their residents and staff, letting them know that someone is thinking of them.

You can help!

Sign up to become a Snailer and send 1 or more cards, notes, or letters to a senior in isolation or a member of the nursing home staff.

This Snailing makes a great project for kids of all ages to participate in and is a great way to teach kids a valuable lesson about compassion and community.
